This thesis explores strategies and prototypes for sustainable and affordable low-rise, high-density housing on Luanda’s periphery. The design portion of the project explores a model neighborhood for a micro-financed, not for-profit development that offers residents the opportunity to own
their units.
MAKER DISTRICT
A New Artisan District
The workshop proposal is a superimposed axial intersection on the Somerset Bayswater site situated within the Hintonburg neighborhood. The proposal aims to carve an exciting new passage for pedestrian movement and maker activity. This urban axial approach
creates new “streets” lined with workshops and art studios.

A Real Success
Kadıköy neighborhood in Istanbul, the most prominent cultural activity is the film industry. For this reason, the project focuses on incorporating a new mixed-use development and a tram line that would highlight the industrial Heritage of the site while giving it an
exciting new character with the addition of a movie studio.
